Fins Plantation House Wedding – Chris & Justin
I had the pleasure of getting to work at the amazing Fins Plantation House for the wedding of Chris & Justin. This wedding was beautiful in every way with lots of laughter and tears! This was also my first same sex wedding since Australia made it legal…. and about damn time!
Weddings like this remind me of how much i LOVE getting to be a wedding photographer. The love and pride shown from all family & guests, young and old, highlighted the fact that marriage is about LOVE not gender.
The ceremony was conducted by the AMAZING Clarah Luxford. Whenever Clarah & I work together its hard to call it work because we have so much fun together. Our couples definitely seem to appreciate this as it helps remove some of their ceremony nerves.
Chris & Justin were not wanting to do heaps of tradition photos together instead they wanted their day to be a celebration & party. Once you look at the photos from this wedding i’m sure you will agree they definitely accomplished that!
This wedding had everything including a fire twirler & a surprise first dance that would leave everyone saying “OMG”. Chris & Justin didn’t want a typical and sometimes boring first dance so they surprised their guests with a Drag Queen show instead!
The drag queen show was truly incredible and something you would expect to see in a Las Vegas show or a movie. This first dance definitely got EVERYONE up on the dance floor and busting a move. There was also lots of selfies taken on the dance floor with the drag queens as guests wanted to make sure they could remember this epic wedding forever.
Fins Plantation House was the perfect wedding location to celebrate this spectacular wedding. I truly had so much fun at this wedding and have come to the conclusion that every wedding reception needs to have a Drag Queen show now. It was the most hilarious and amazing performance that had grandparents, children and everyone in attendance celebrating and dancing without a care in the world.
